Brass Lantern Award

Starting in 2006, the GCGRS membership awards a brass lantern to an outstanding member or couple who have gone above and beyond to contribute to the GCGRS. Nominations are accepted at the September meeting and published in the October Branch Line. The nominees are voted on and the winner is announced at the annual Christmas party

2016 Winner – Mike Wolf

Since his railroad has been built he has hosted numerous open house tours sponsored by the GCCRS: he was also on tour for the 2013 national convention in Cincinnati, even passing out souvenir soda cups emblazoned with the club’s 29th convention logo. As a longtime club board member he has been in charge of member services, responsible for incoming mail collection and appropriate distribution, as well as putting on a number of club sponsored clinics at EnterTRAINment Junction. For the aforementioned reasons, Mike deserves this year’s award, he embodies the club’s values and is a willing participant in a great many of its activities.
